VideoTakes CEO and DP to Release New Books

Arlington, VA, March 2010 – Two members of the VideoTakes team, CEO Chris Palmer and DP Catherine Zimmerman, are releasing new books this spring.

Palmer’s book, Shooting in the Wild: An Insider's Account of Making Movies in the Animal Kingdom, details the trend toward sensationalism, extreme risk-taking and abuse in wildlife filmmaking. He traces these trends back to their roots in the early days of the genre and also profiles a new breed of skilled, ethical filmmakers whose work both enlightens and entertains. The book will be available May 1, 2010 on Amazon.com.

Zimmerman’s Urban & Suburban Meadows addresses the problems caused by the extensive planting of non-native grass lawns across America. In the book, Zimmerman combines her expertise in photography, storytelling, environmental issues, horticulture and organic practices to offer meadowscaping as a lawn alternative.
