USAID Film Celebrates 10 Years of Conservation

Arlington, VA, October 14, 2009 – VideoTakes recently completed “Changing the Landscape: 10 Years of Impact and Learning in USAID’s Global Conservation Program.” The film premiered September 17 at a symposium celebrating the 10th anniversary and final year of the Global Conservation Program, or GCP.

The GCP brought together USAID and six international non-profits in a worldwide initiative to promote more effective conservation strategies. It focused on working at a large scale and over a long period of time to engage and build the capacity of local communities and governments in conservation efforts.

VideoTakes created a 20-minute film to highlight the accomplishments and key themes of the GCP and to show its impact around the globe.

Footage was provided by the six partner organizations: the African Wildlife Foundation, Conservation International, Enterprise Works/VITA, The Nature Conservancy, the Wildlife Conservation Society and the World Wildlife Fund. The film was written and produced by Andrea Bloom and edited by Olivia Yeo. Graphics were created by Matthew M. Zappile.

“Changing the Landscape” will be used as a learning tool by conservationists worldwide and will also be shown to the public on USAID’s website.
