VideoTakes, Inc., Celebrates 23 Years!

Arlington, VA, October 31, 2008 – VideoTakes, Inc. proudly celebrates its 23rd anniversary today. For more than two decades, this small company has helped make a big difference through award-winning films that educate, inspire and motivate.

Sandy Cannon-Brown founded VideoTakes as the logical extension of her work in print and broadcast journalism and public relations. She served as CEO and president for 20 years before relinquishing the CEO title to Chris Palmer who has produced environmental films for more than 25 years.

“Since Chris joined the team in 2005, we have increased our work in environmental issues significantly,” Cannon-Brown said. “We have about a dozen films in production right now, and most of them have an environmental focus.”

Active clients include the World Resources Institute, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/Association of Zoos and Aquariums, USAID/Wildlife Conservation Society, Wallace Genetic Foundation, Fund for Sustainable Tomorrows, and SAIC/U.S. Air Force. Subjects range from biodiversity to bioterrorism.

Palmer and Cannon-Brown met at American University, where they both teach. Palmer also directs the AU Center for Environmental Filmmaking and is President of the MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation, which produces and funds IMAX films.

“We are so grateful to be working with clients who actively care about our planet and all of its inhabitants,” Cannon-Brown stated. “Our anniversary is an opportunity to say thank you for all they do and for the honor of working with them.”
