Chris Palmer Is Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Wildlife Film Festival

Chris PalmerMissoula, MT, October 20, 2008 – VideoTakes, Inc. is delighted to announce that our CEO, Chris Palmer, has been named recipient of the International Wildlife Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award for Media for the 32nd IWFF 2009.

This prestigious award is given to the individual whose life’s work best represents the mission of the International Wildlife Film Festival: To promote awareness, knowledge and understanding of wildlife, habitat, people and nature through excellent film, television and other media.

“In our estimation, your achievements, efforts and ongoing projects, exemplify this mission and it is our greatest honor to recognize you with this award,” Janet Rose, Executive Director of the IWFF and the International Wildlife Media Center, stated in her letter to Palmer.

A special award and public recognition will be given officially on
Friday, May 15th during the 32nd IWFF Awards Gala.

Palmer took the helm at VideoTakes, Inc. in 2005, bringing the 23-year-old company an infusion of new clients who focus on environmental issues.

“We are so proud of Chris and all he does to promote environmental stewardship and awareness,” Sandy Cannon-Brown, president of VideoTakes, said. “But most of all, we are honored to work with such a caring, dedicated and special individual. He is an amazing man.”

Palmer also founded and directs the Center for Environmental Filmmaking at American University where he is the Distinguished Film Producer in Residence. He also is President of the MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation, which produces and funds IMAX films as well as companion educational outreach materials and programs. MacGillivray Freeman Films is the world’s largest and most successful producer and distributor of IMAX films.
